Bob attended Drafting School in 1967 and started RSM Drafting Services Ltd. in 1977. We have had about 500 projects over the years of which over half would be Log or Log type construction. Bob is a member of the Building Design Institute of British Columbia and has the designation Certified Residential Designer, he is also a member if the International Log Builders association.
For the 1st 25 years I worked primarily by myself but in 2003 that all changed, because of the work load and the conversion to CAD drawing we took on an associate. That has since developed into as many as 3 additional people working in the office, which has become an interesting challenge. We now complete on average 60 projects a year of which the majority are log construction. We also Design Frame homes, small commercial projects and “AS BUILT” projects, Timber Frame, Post and Beam , Standard Log Construction, Handscribed or manufactured homes.
We are very interested in working closely with the home owner, builder or general contractor to make sure the home owner builds the home that they want, and spend the extra time to achieve this.
Most of our projects have been built in the U.S.A. some of which have gone overseas to New Zealand, India, China, Japan, Europe, and all across Canada.
We have designed homes of all sizes and small commercial buildings i.e.: a community centre/church, a lodge c/w all the outbuildings etc.
