Most North Americans at one time in their lives have had the dream of building their own little log cabin in the wilderness. There are many books and articles written about how to build, but in Drawing Dreams, Bob Miller hopes to show you what can be built, along with some inspiration from completed projects.
Miller looks at himself as a messenger whose job is to convey, on paper, his client’s vision in a form that will be approved by the applicable building department. He has been involved in the log building industry since 1976 and has seen many changes in design, code requirements and people’s taste. Home Sizes have increased from the modest 1000 square foot to the gigantic 10,000+ square foot home.
The 50 log building plans in Volume 1 are hand hewn type buildings and The information provided includes suggested methods of construction. Consult your local building department for regulations specific to your area.
